The National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA) will bring together industry advocacy and leadership development this September by co-locating its Hill Day advocacy fly-in with the IMPACT Leadership Group Conference in Washington, D.C.

For the first time during the 119th Congress, the two events will be held as a combined experience, with Hill Day taking place on Sept. 22 and the IMPACT conference continuing with dedicated leadership programming on Sept. 23-24.
The expanded format is designed to give asphalt industry professionals an opportunity to engage directly with policymakers while also investing in the development of future industry leaders.
Industry voices head to Capitol Hill
Hill Day participants will meet with members of Congress and federal policymakers to discuss issues affecting the asphalt pavement and transportation construction sectors, including the upcoming surface transportation reauthorization legislation.
Supported by a coalition of transportation and construction trade associations, the event allows industry representatives to share firsthand perspectives on infrastructure investment, workforce development, and the importance of long-term transportation funding.
This year’s gathering comes as Washington prepares for nationwide celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of the United States, adding additional significance to the industry’s presence in the nation’s capital.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to visit the “America on the Move” transportation exhibition at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of American History, an exhibit supported by the NAPA Research & Education Foundation.
Developing the next generation of leaders
Following Hill Day, emerging industry professionals will participate in the IMPACT Leadership Group Conference, which focuses on leadership development, industry trends, and professional growth.
The conference will feature sessions designed to strengthen leadership skills, encourage strategic thinking, and expose participants to best practices from both the construction sector and other industries.
Organizers say the program will challenge attendees to think about the future of the asphalt pavement industry while preparing for greater leadership responsibilities within their companies and organizations.
As participants advance into senior roles, the conference aims to help them become stronger advocates for both their businesses and the broader asphalt industry.
