The National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA) will bring together industry advocacy and leadership development this September by hosting its Hill Day fly-in alongside the IMPACT Leadership Group Conference in Washington, D.C.

For the first time during the 119th Congress, the two events will be held as a coordinated program, giving asphalt industry professionals an opportunity to engage with federal lawmakers while helping prepare the next generation of industry leaders.
Hill Day is scheduled for Sept. 22, followed by IMPACT Leadership Group programming on Sept. 23-24.
Industry leaders head to Capitol Hill
During Hill Day, asphalt industry representatives will meet with members of Congress and federal policymakers to discuss issues affecting transportation infrastructure and the road construction sector.
A key focus of this year’s advocacy effort will be the upcoming surface transportation reauthorization legislation, which will help shape future federal investment in highways, roads, and related infrastructure projects.
Participants will join fellow industry members and representatives from transportation and construction trade associations to share firsthand perspectives on workforce development, infrastructure funding, and the importance of long-term transportation planning.
The event takes place as Washington, D.C., prepares for nationwide celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of the United States, adding additional significance to this year’s gathering.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to visit the “America on the Move” transportation exhibition at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History, an exhibit supported by the NAPA Research & Education Foundation.
IMPACT focuses on future industry leaders
Following Hill Day, emerging professionals will participate in the IMPACT Leadership Group Conference, which is designed to help develop future leaders within the asphalt pavement industry.
The conference will feature leadership training, professional development sessions, and discussions focused on industry challenges and opportunities. Participants will gain insight into leadership best practices, strategic planning, and effective communication skills.
Organizers say the program encourages attendees to think about the long-term future of the asphalt industry while preparing for greater responsibilities within their organizations.
As participants advance into management and executive roles, the conference aims to help them become stronger advocates for both their companies and the broader transportation construction industry.
Building industry influence and leadership
By combining advocacy efforts with leadership development, NAPA hopes to strengthen the industry’s voice in Washington while investing in the professionals who will guide the sector in the years ahead.
The dual event offers companies an opportunity to engage with policymakers, support workforce development, and help shape the future direction of the asphalt pavement industry.
